Camila Bardehle (Punta Arenas, 1989)
Camila Bardehle Ruiz's work emerges from a fascination with territory as a space of dialogue and tension between nature and urbanity. Her artistic practice unfolds in the study of boundaries and limits that shape the relationship between the human body and constructed environments, using a multidisciplinary approach that includes installation, watercolor, photography, and video. Bardehle Ruiz creates a visual cartography that explores the impact of nature and architecture in forming both physical and symbolic spaces.
Having lived in Tierra del Fuego, her work is imbued with a persistent evocation of nature, an element that, in her vision, acts as a form of resistance against the expansion of the city. This contrast between natural landscapes and urban structures becomes a setting where she investigates themes of belonging, identity, and displacement. Through her work, Bardehle Ruiz invites the viewer to reconsider their relationship with the environment and to question the boundaries that separate the organic from the constructed.
Her career includes solo exhibitions in spaces such as 25m and Hermes Artes Visuais in São Paulo, as well as participation in notable group shows such as Re–localizando el horizonte at the Instituto Cervantes (São Paulo), A fonte desagua na floresta (São Paulo), Bienal Concepción (Chile), and Dislocar la herida (Santiago). Her work has been exhibited in various countries, including Germany, Bolivia, and Argentina. She has also participated in artist residencies at renowned institutions such as FAAP, Hermes Artes Visuais, and ACE, with support from the ACE Foundation and Fondart
