Another Day, Another Paint
Solo Show - Lucas Estévez
August 29 — September 28, 2024

Lucas Estévez creates enigmatic interior spaces and grids that unfold before the viewer, drawing upon both personal and collective imagination. His paintings delineate a world of possibilities, presenting instinctive equations through symbolic elements displaced from their original contexts. These works challenge creative limitations and redistribute the visible, merging the real and the virtual into a synthetic version of reality.

Estévez’s art evolves through continuous, spontaneous practice, expanding like a nebula as it navigates the unpredictability of daily life. His use of geometric abstraction and graphic symbols captures the fleeting nature of time, creating alternate realities and counterpoints.

His paintings depict impersonal digital symbols, such as signal bars and emojis, which serve as tools for expressing unspoken emotions—loneliness, and the longing for happiness. Estévez transforms these depersonalized digital forms into shared, poetic spaces that offer solace and reflection. His work seamlessly blends surrealism, geometric abstraction, and minimalism, creating an ever-evolving visual language that reflects the flow of digital time.
